Derek A. Weller’s practice involves a wide variety of real estate and land use matters, with particular emphasis on real estate purchase and sale transactions, secured real estate finance transactions, commercial and residential leasing transactions, entitlement and development of residential properties (including the establishment of common interest development subdivisions and the preparation and enforcement of governing documents), establishment of and assistance to owners associations, resolution of property disputes, and all aspects of land use and environmental regulatory and compliance matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Weller practiced in the Land Use and Environmental Law department at Morrison & Foerster LLP in San Francisco, California, where he litigated and counseled clients on a wide variety of land use and environmental matters. While in law school, he served as a law clerk with the United States Environmental Protection Agency Region IX, Office of Regional Counsel, Air Division, and with the United States Attorney’s Office in the Lands and Environment Division.
